Introduction of poverty alleviation :

Introduction of poverty alleviation : As the Covid-19 pandemic forced more people into poverty, with over 156 million people becoming impoverished, new ideas and projects began to develop.

Spurred on by new inspirations, in an attempt to discover new ways of dealing with the crisis.

Poverty as a problem entails more than just financial vulnerability :

Alas it also encompasses several negative consequences that jeopardize health, education, social security, pushes for child labor, and encourage dangerous or criminal actions.

Among the many proposals that have been put forward to help impoverished societies, experience has shown that, despite the importance of emergency relief.

It is sustainable operational projects that make the real difference.

The concept of trade or investment can be adapted to benefit both investors and the poor, by investing in projects that promote social responsibility.

For example, establishing a garment manufacturing business in a poor village will improve the skills of the residents and provide them with a sustainable source of income, while the business owner will save money on labor and receive high-quality clothing.

The International Waqf Fund’s experience

It is possible to provide adequate livelihoods for the underprivileged in a variety of societies with various conditions and characteristics.

In Yemen :

We have supported orphans’ mothers by developing their professional skills so that they could provide for their children.

In Indonesia :

We have successfully funded mushroom cultivation projects for families that are now able to support themselves.

Jordan :

We provide vocational training in barbering to a group of young men.

When we talked to people who directly benefited from the projects and heard their perspectives.

What drew our attention the most was the beneficiary’s sense of dignity and social and psychological stability because of their newfound financial stability.

Regardless of how modest the return on the project is the poor prefer to have a steady income in a dignified manner, rather than a temporary relief that expires fast.

In the process of sustainable development and poverty eradication each of us may contribute to the solution and be part of the recovery process.

As an international charity fund :

  1. We identify the most impoverished areas.
  2. Explore and plan the type of projects that each area needs.
  3. Consult with the local committees on the best projects that will have a sustainable impact.
  4. Begin funding and implementation.

As a member of the community :

No matter what job you have or how much money you earn, you can make a difference.

Your donation to one of the Waqf shares in the International Waqf Fund or any contribution as a Sadaqah Jariyah, increases the funds invested and utilizes their returns to develop projects with sustainable impact.
