Ramadan: The Month of Mercy, Forgiveness, and Giving.

Ramadan is a sacred month observed by Muslims all over the world. It is a time when they experience a renewed sense of love, generosity, and mercy in their hearts. During the day, Muslims refrain from indulging in worldly desires to demonstrate their devotion and obedience to Allah (SWT). Additionally, they strive to achieve spiritual ascension through acts of worship, contemplation, and righteous deeds.

Fasting during Ramadan is a crucial part of the month, but it is not the only act of worship that Muslims should perform. We are encouraged to increase all acts of worship during Ramadan, including reciting the Athkar and Qur’an sincerely, praying, and engaging in charitable work. Fasting reminds us of the struggles faced by those less fortunate than us. Accordingly, we are urged to exhibit compassion and solidarity with those in need by giving generously throughout the year, especially during Ramadan.

Ramadan offers a unique opportunity to focus on spiritual growth by purifying the mind and soul and strengthening the connection and devotion to Allah (SWT). It is a time for self-reflection, personal discipline, and spiritual renewal. By doing so, we can strengthen our community and promote the values of compassion and generosity.

How does a Ramadan waqf share work?

The International Waqf Fund offers a remarkable opportunity to contribute to the well-being of fasting families during the holy month of Ramadan. Through a Ramadan Waqf share, you can make a lasting impact on those in need by providing them with food during Ramadan for years to come.

The process is simple – you make an initial donation, which is then invested by the International Waqf Fund. The returns from this investment are used each year to provide families with Ramadan food packs, which typically feed an average of 5 people.

These food packs consist of essential staple foods from various food groups and serve as a source of sustenance during the month of fasting.

Your contribution to the Ramadan Waqf share is not only an act of charity, but it also provides an ongoing opportunity to give and make a difference in the lives of others. You can even choose to gift the reward of your contribution to someone else, making it a thoughtful and meaningful gift.

What is in a Ramadan food pack?

A Ramadan food pack is a collection of essential staple foods that helps feed an average family of 5 during the holy month of Ramadan. The food pack includes a variety of items to meet the dietary needs of a family, including rice, lentils, cooking oil, wheat flour, sugar, eggs and more.

These items form the core components of a balanced diet, providing families with the necessary energy and nutrition to sustain them throughout the day, as they abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset. The goal of the Ramadan food pack is to support families in need and ensure that everyone has access to sufficient and nutritious food during this holy month.

The impact of your Ramadan Waqf shares

The impact of your waqf shares is far-reaching and truly makes a difference in the lives of those in need.

In 2022, our efforts in Indonesia and Iraq provided a significant number of food packs to those in need, with 229 food packs distributed in Indonesia and 230 food packs in Iraq.

These food packs not only provided sustenance during the holy month of Ramadan but also served as a symbol of compassion and generosity. With your support, we were able to make a positive impact on the communities in Indonesia and Iraq and help alleviate some of the challenges faced during Ramadan.

Your contributions are making a real difference and we are grateful for your support.

“Our community are so happy for this support. You know, the life here is quite challenging. The price of food is so expensive.

Ramadan food packs are very helpful for us. We have been living here in temporary shelter for quite long. We never have received such assistance before over the years. This reduces our cost of living. – Beneficiary, Eli
