The Greatest 10 Nights of the Year
The last 10 days of Ramadan are the best days of the year and the most blessed. They contain Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Power), which is better than a thousand months, and during which the Prophet ﷺ devoted himself to worship with an effort he did not exert at any other time.
When Do the Last 10 Days of Ramadan 2026 Begin?
They begin from the night of the twenty-first, meaning from sunset on the twentieth day of Ramadan. In 2026, the last 10 days will approximately fall between March 30 and April 8, 2026, Allah willing, according to the moon sighting.
Narrated by Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): “When the last 10 days (of Ramadan) began, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would stay up at night, wake up his family, strive hard (in worship), and tighten his waist wrapper” (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
The Best Deeds in the Last 10 Days of Ramadan
1. Staying Up at Night in Prayer (Qiyam al-Layl)
As mentioned in the hadith, the Prophet ﷺ would stay up the entire night. Make sure to:
- Complete Taraweeh prayers
- Perform Qiyam al-Layl (night prayer) and Tahajjud
- Pray Witr
- Increase voluntary prayers
2. I’tikaf (Spiritual Retreat) in the Mosque
I’tikaf is a confirmed Sunnah from the Prophet ﷺ and is among the greatest acts of worship during the last 10 days. If you cannot perform I’tikaf for the entire ten days, do it for as long as you can, even if only for one night.
3. Abundant Recitation of the Holy Quran
Set a goal to complete one or more recitations of the Quran during the last 10 days, and read with contemplation and devotion. Every letter brings a reward, and a good deed is multiplied ten times.

4. Abundant Supplication and Devotion
Especially the supplication for Laylat al-Qadr: “O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me (Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni).” Pray for yourself, your family, and the Muslim Ummah.
5. Dhikr (Remembrance) and Seeking Forgiveness
Engage abundantly in:
- Glory and praise be to Allah (Subhan Allah wa bihamdihi)
- I seek Allah’s forgiveness and repent to Him (Astaghfirullah wa atubu ilayh)
- There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner (La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah)
- Sending prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ (Salawat)
6. Charity and Spending in the Way of Allah
Charity during the last 10 days carries immense reward, and if given on Laylat al-Qadr, its reward equals more than 83 years! Donate to:
- Ongoing waqf (endowment) projects
- Feeding the poor and needy
- Orphan sponsorship
- Building mosques and digging wells
- Medical assistance
How to Invest in the Last 10 Days?
Investing for the Hereafter Through Ongoing Charity (Sadaqah Jariyah)
When you donate during the last 10 days, especially on Laylat al-Qadr, to waqf projects and ongoing charity, you ensure:
Sustainable Waqf Projects:
-
- Digging wells
- Building schools
- Building hospitals and medical support
Urgent Relief Projects:
- Feeding the Needy: Contribute to iftar (breaking fast) for the fasting
- Orphan Sponsorship: Become a sponsor for an orphan during the greatest nights of the year
- Medical Treatment: Save the life of a patient who cannot afford treatment
- Emergency Assistance: Be a support for those affected by crises
The Virtue of Sadaqah Jariyah and Waqf
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah, knowledge from which benefit is derived, or a righteous child who prays for him” (Narrated by Muslim)
When you donate to waqf projects during the last 10 days, you combine:
- The virtue of time: The last ten days and perhaps Laylat al-Qadr
- The virtue of the deed: Ongoing charity whose reward never ceases
- The virtue of continuity: The reward is renewed every day even after your death
