human appeal sponsor an orphan :
human appeal sponsors an orphan: Around 10,000 thousand children around the world become orphans every day. Most suffer from poverty, oppression, insecurity, and loss of livelihoods due to conflicts, wars and difficult living circumstances. When a child loses a parent, the child does not only suffer from a lack of income, but they also suffer from a lack of proper education, healthcare and poor mental health.
Why Orphans?
Of the millions of vulnerable people around the world living in poverty, orphans suffer the most. The loss of a parent leads these children to become at risk to all sorts of harm. Many times, older siblings become care-takers of their younger siblings. Sadly, their education, health and social skills suffer due to the lack of an adult presence and protection in their lives.
Orphans Sponsorship.. More Than Just a Donation
To sponsor an orphan means to provide funds to support their livelihood, education and healthcare needs. This sponsorship is a lifeline for orphans who have no one else to rely on, it’s a means of security for them.
“Worship God, and ascribe no partners to Him, and be good to the parents, and the relatives, and the orphans, and the poor…” Quran [4:36]
Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) said: “I and the one who looks after an orphan will be like this in Paradise,” putting his index and middle fingers together.
Moreover, Allah swt has promised a great reward to those who look after orphans. One can embrace an orphan by fostering and looking after them as one of their own. On the other hand, one can sponsor an orphan by donating towards their needs, this includes food, shelter, education and healthcare.
Nevertheless, the most common approach to sponsoring an orphan is providing financial assistance to help pay for their food, shelter, education, healthcare and other needs.
When looking deeper into the needs of orphans today, we found that orphans need full sponsorships to make a true and lasting impact on their lives. A sponsorship that will enable orphans to carry on with their lives even after the sponsorship termination. Orphans need people who can invest in their health, education and skills .
Orphans Sponsorship in Gaza
The Gaza Strip, southern Palestine, is one of the areas that are deeply affected by conflict. The Gaza Strip alone has over 22,000 orphans, most of which suffer from poverty and the ramifications of wars, yearning for their lost loved ones.
The unemployment rate in the Gaza Strip hit 46% per the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics. Moreover, the poverty rate reached 54% in 2020, which has risen again after the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the International Waqf Fund, we recently sponsored two orphans: Siraj and Yusuf in Gaza. You can read more about them here. Additionally, we have also implemented orphan sponsorship projects in Africa and Asia throughout the years. Read more case studies here.
In addition to sponsoring orphans entirely, the International Waqf Fund conducts projects that serve orphans generally such as providing solar power to orphans’ houses in Bangladesh. Also, we empower orphans’ families in Bosnia by providing them with means of securing sustainable livelihoods.
Orphans Sponsorship Waqf Share
When you donate an Orphan Sponsorship Waqf share, you are investing in a child’s future and your own. We transfer all the donations we receive into low-risk Sharia-compliant investments. Once these accrue profits we use part of these profits towards bettering the lives of orphans through sponsorships. Some profits are also reinvested back into our fund so they can generate more income for years to come. With this project, you can build on your sadaqah jariyah whilst also transforming the lives of many thousands of children.
The cost of one Orphan sponsorship Waqf share is only £7,200. This could be split between you and any family members or friends so you could all reap the benefits in the hereafter inshallah.
