day of arafah dua :

day of arafah dua : On this day, Allah descends to the sky and says to the angles:

“My slaves have come to me, looking rough, from every deep valley hoping for my mercy, so if their sins are equivalent to the amount of sand or the drops of rain or like the foam on the sea. I will forgive them. So go forth my slaves! Having forgiveness for what and who you have interceded for”. (Tabarani)

Pilgrims who are at Hajj will gather on the plains of Arafat on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah and supplicate to Allah for forgiveness. Those who aren’t at Hajj are still able to benefit from the virtues of this day by the following acts of worship:

Fasting

For those who are not pilgrims in Makkah, it is Sunnah to fast on this day.  The Prophet (pbuh) said:

“It expiates the sins of the past year and the coming year.” (Muslim)

The Prophet (pbuh) also said:

“There is no day on which Allah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of ‘Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on ‘Arafah), and then He reveals before His Angels saying, ‘What are these people seeking.” (Muslim)

Reciting Quran

There is great reward in reciting the words of Allah and especially on such a blessed day as the day of Arafah.

“This day I have perfected for you your religion and completed My favor upon you and have approved for you Islam as religion.” (5:03)

Reciting Dhikr

Here are some easy words of dhikr you can recite throughout the day:

La ilaha ill-Allah – There is no God but Allah

Allahu Akbar – Allah is the greatest

SubhanAllah – Glory be to Allah

Alhamdulillah – All praise is due to Allah

SubhanAllahi wa bi hamdihi, subhanAllahi-l ’adheem – All glory is to Allah and all praise to Him. Glorified is Allah, the great.

Supplicating duas

اَللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ

Allahumma Ajirni minan naar

O Allah, save me from the fire (Jahannam)

Laa ilaaha ill-allaahu, waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer

None has the right to be worshiped except Allah, alone, without partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and all praise and He is over all things omnipotent.

(At-Tirmidhi 5:504)

For Someone who provides you Iftar

أَفْطَرَ عِنْدَكُمُ الصَّائِمُونَ وَأَكَلَ طَعَامَكُمُ الأَبْرَارُ وَصَلَّتْ عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَلاَئِكَةُ

Aftara ‘indakumus-saimun, wa akala ta’amakumul-abrar, wa sallat ‘alaikumul- mala’ikah

May the fasting (men) break their fast with you, and the pious eat your food, and the angels pray for blessing on you.

(Ibn Majah: 1747)

Charity

Make sure you have given your Qurabni. Also, try to do extra acts of charity by giving generously in the way of Allah. This is the day when Allah swt descends to the sky, so give freely as you would in the last ten nights of Ramadan.

With IWF, you can give a Qurbani for life…

A Qurbani for life with International Waqf Fund means, every year we will perform a Qurbani on your behalf.

A Qurbani Waqf Share is a one-off donation that ensures you are giving Qurbanis every year for life and beyond. After you have performed your Qurbani for this year, donating towards a Qurbani Waqf Share will secure a Qurbani in your name every year from Eid-ul-Adha 2022 onwards.

One Qurbani Waqf share costs  £1600. Your one-off donation will be invested in our low-risk investment fund. These typically accrue around 5-7% of returns. A majority of these profits we will use towards a Qurbani next year and a portion will be re-invested back into our fund. Each year your investment will help us feed more and more families, up to 5 people per Qurbani, building on your sadaqah jariyah.

From the many years we’ve been providing Qurbani Waqf shares, since 2015, we have issued over 990 Qurbanis from the returns, directly benefitting over 14,000 people.

Donate a Qurbani Waqf Share today and reap the rewards for years to come.
