During Ramadan 2022, we assisted by using returns from Waqf shares to provide food packs. We distributed food packs to areas across Central Sulawesi, NTB province and Aceh.

We supported IDPs/refugees residing in temporary shelter, pregnant women, female-headed households, older people, families with children under two years and poor families who lost their livelihood due to Covid-19.

Food pack contents:

“Ramadan is a special month for us so for you too. We always rejoice everybody to welcome it.

On a normal day, we usually eat rice with fish, egg and vegetables but hardly eat met and chicken they are bit expensive.

During Ramadan, I sometimes serve fresh fish. I bought it from the local market. Our community are so happy for this support. You know, the life here is quite challenging. The price of food is so expensive. They must be grateful for receiving food packs from Islamic Relief.

Ramadan Food Pack is very helpful for us, we like it. We have been living here in a temporary shelter for a quite long. We never received such assistance before over the years. This reduces our living cost.

The volunteer informed us that those who live in the shelters will receive the food packs. They said the packet is free. Oh.
