Situation: Millions of Yemenis have faced the combined effects of the war, the ongoing economic crisis, and crippled public services throughout the past seven years of warfare.
Impact: In 2021, escalating war resulted in increasing civilian casualties, displacement, and interruption of public services, driving greater humanitarian demands. Yemen’s deteriorating economy, which is a result of the conflict, aggravated the vulnerability of poor households. In 2022, more than 23.4 million people – about three-quarters of the population – would require humanitarian assistance and protection, up 13% from a terrifying level in 2021.
Response: This project has helped to improve the livelihoods of 40 vulnerable households in rural communities. By providing agriculture resources to help support their income activities.
