5 healthy suhoor ideas:
During Ramadan it’s important that we nourish our bodies with healthy foods that give us energy throughout the fasting day. Here are a list of 5 healthy foods to incorporate into your Ramadan diet:
- Oats – Packed with goodness. Oats are a perfect suhoor staple. With slow releasing energy, full of fibre, they will keep you fuller for longer.
- Fruit smoothies – So easy to make and prepare well in advance. Throw some of your favourite fruits together and blend into a smoothie. You can add some healthy chia, flax, pumpkin seeds, cinnamon for an extra kick and just to incorporate all the goodness. Coconut water is also a really great addition for hydration.
- Bananas – So versatile, these can be turned into pancakes, toppings or eaten as is. Either way they help you feel fuller for longer, are packed with natural sugars and will give you a boost of energy.
- Eggs – High in protein, eggs are a great way to get some healthy protein in. They also keep you full and are super easy to make.
- Peanut butter – Sounds like a snack, but peanut butter contains lots of healthy fats and is extremely good for you. You can add this to your toast or your oats and even your pancakes.
And of course don’t forget water. Slowly sip on water from the moment you break your fast till suhoor to stay hydrated.
